Sberbank capital goes up

In the first half of 2002, the capital of Sberbank increased by RUR8.9bn(about $281.80m) or 9.3 percent to RUR104.6bn (about $3.31bn) by July 1,2002. These figures were calculated according to the Russian AccountingStandards. This information was released in the financial statement of thebank. Net assets gained 18.9 percent and reached RUR948.2bn (about$30.02bn).Balance profits of the bank amounted to RUR18.9bn (about $598.43m) in thefirst six months of 2002 as compared to RUR10.8bn (about $341.96m) in thecorresponding period of 2001. Net profits grew by RUR7.9bn (about $250.14m)and amounted to RUR17bn (about $538.27m) as of July 1, 2002. The creditinstitution received RUR64.3bn (about $2.06bn) in interest revenues.
