Russian gas exports grow 16.5% in January-August 2002

Russian gas exports grew 16.5 percent to 109.8bn cubic meters worth $9bn inJanuary-August 2002 as compared to the similar period last year, theRussian State Customs Committee reported to RosBusinessConsulting. Russia'sgas exports to foreign countries rose 5 percent to 78.4bn cubic meters inthe specified period, while Russian gas exports to the countries of theCommonwealth of the Independent States (CIS) grew 60 percent to 31.4bncubic meters in January-August 2002..
