Government to review concept of support for exporters in September

In September the government plans to review the concept of support forexporters, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov told reporters today,commenting on the main tasks for the Cabinet for the fourth quarter.According to him, in autumn it is also planned to discuss the budget of thenatural monopolies for next year. Kasyanov pointed out that while onlyparts of the respective documents were reviewed earlier, the governmentwould now discuss these documents in full. Kasyanov said that the Duma was considering bills on reforms in the railwayand energy industries. He remarked, "one should not allow any delays intheir implementation, since they create a fundamental basis for stableeconomic growth." Additionally, before the end of the year the governmentwill discuss the implementation of the banking sector strategy. Accordingto Kasyanov, the work on the system of guarantees for individual bankdeposits will be completed. The Prime Minister pointed out that theweakness of the banking sector was one of the reasons for the present lowlevel of investments, and the government had to take a number of measuresto support stable development of the industrial sector and the economy ingeneral. Additionally, according to Kasyanov, the concept of the domesticgas market, including the ways and principles of gas sales by producersindependent of Gazprom will be discussed at the government meeting. .
