Second Baykal Economic Forum opens in Irkutsk

The Second Baykal Economic Forum has opened in Irkutsk. The OrganizationalCommittee of the Forum reported to RBC that its main aim was to "connectEurope to Asia." Among the participants of the forum are Sergei Mironov,speaker of the Federation Council, Arkady Volsky, president of the RussianUnion of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Leonid Drachevsky, authorizedrepresentative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District,Dmitry Kozak, deputy head of the presidential administration, AndreiIllarionov, economic advisor to the President of Russia, Yevgeny Yasin,director of the Expert Institute, Oleg Deripaska, head of the BazovyElement company, etc. In total, about 100 people are expected to attend theforum. As it was reported earlier, about 2,000 businesspeople andpoliticians from over 40 regions of Russia took part in the First BaykalEconomic Forum in 2001..
