Numerous guests are expected at Baikal Economic Forum

The second International Baikal Economic Forum which is to be held on September 17th-20th, according to its organisers' forecasts, will be attended by at least 1,500 participants.

As the administration of the Irkutsk Region (a region in the south of Eastern Siberia) said, about 1,000 applications for participation in the Forum have already been received.

The motto of the forthcoming Baikal Forum is Business and the Nation's Health. The congresses, conferences and Round Table meetings on economic and social problems will go parallel with the holding of the International Irkutsk Fair, a youth and arts festival, and other events of the vast cultural programme.

The maximum expenditures on holding the Baikal Economic Forum are preliminarily estimated at 35 million roubles (31.50 roubles = 1 dollar). As the organisers say, the expenditures will be covered by the participants' contributions and by the sponsor funds raised by financial-industrial groups.
