Eight Weeks To Repair The Crusher

Canada's only primary producer of platinum group metals North American Palladium Ltd will take up to eight weeks to repair the primary crusher.

The work will begin immediately to fix the equipment that broke down last week, and an older crusher will be reactivated while the repairs are under way to allow the mine to continue to operate.

North American Palladium said an inspection found two vertical cracks in the crusher. The estimated cost of the repairs was not disclosed, but the company said it would take between six and eight weeks to complete.

The replacement crusher is expected to be able to process between 12000 and 14000 tonnes of material per day.
