Russia intends to develop and strengthen trade and economic cooperation with Arabic countries in various fields. This was announced during a meeting with President of the General Union of Trade, Industry, and Agriculture of Arabic Countries Halid Ismail by Deputy Foreign Secretary of the Russian Federation Alex Saltanov. As announced by the press-service of the Russian foreign office, Saltanov highly valued the visit of the Arabic delegation to Russia, which was intended to help fulfil this important task.
Ismail said that trade, industry and business circles in Arabic countries are fully in favour of movement on the part of Russia towards a bilateral trade and economic relationship. He also spoke of definite steps in this direction taken by his organisation.
