The board of directors of the Russian leading airline Aeroflot has approved a program on improving flight security, a source in the pubic relations department reported to journalist. In addition, the board included expenditures for this program in the company's budget for 2002. An Aeroflot representative noted they are going to allocate about $2 million for this program. It provides, in particular, for strengthening security measures at aircraft parking places in airports and improving security in planes (for instance, installing locks in cockpits). In addition, the source noted that the company increased the number of flights accompanied by representatives of the Aeroflot security service.
