Gazprom expands cooperation with Uzbekistan

Gazprom expands its cooperation with Uzbekistan. The issues concerning the exploration of gas by the Russian company in Uzbekistan were discussed in the course of the meeting between Uzbek President Islam Karimov and OAO Gazprom Board Chairman Alexey Miller.

The meeting took place in Islam Karimov's Oskaroy residence, the Uzbek President's staff disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent. The issues concerning the development of the promising gas fields and the expansion of the gas exploration in Uzbekistan were discussed during the meeting.

The expansion of Gazprom's cooperation with Uzbekistan is important for the Republic in terms of the development of the gas transportation system and the flow of investments in this branch of industry, as well as the participation of the Russian company in the process of the gas industry privatisation in Uzbekistan, the President's staff added.
