Economy Minister on dividing Gazprom

The Russian Economy Ministry is not calling for dividing Gazprom, Russian Economy Minister German Gref stated to journalists today after a government meeting. The participants of the meeting discussed the draft of the social and economic development for a medium term (2003-2005). According to the Minister, the program has a chapter on developing the concept of reforming the gas industry; it is to be adopted this year. As Gref said, at the first stage of reforms, a transportation, a production and a dispatching parts will be determined within Russia's gas giant. The Minister stressed that Gazprom was not the only company mentioned in the governmental program; all details regarding the gas holding were coordinated with Gazprom.
