Russian Industrial Output Grows At Slowesr Rate In Three Years

Industrial output in Russia durin April grew at its slowest annual rate in over three years, the state statistics committee said. April industrial output increased by only 1.2 percent from the same month in 2001, adjusted for the number of working days, the committee said. That is the slowest growth since April 1999, when output grew by 0.6 percent. Industrial output grew at five percent last year and 3.7 percent in the first quarter, adjusted for the number of working days. March industrial output grew by 5.3 percent from the year earlier period, quickening from 3.8 percent growth in the month of February.
