DMT and Noble Corporation have teamed up with the goal of improving drilling platform efficiency by installing state-of-the-art directional drilling technology and plant monitoring.
"An ideal partner for us", says Dr. Rolf Petry, Managing Director of DMT. The "thinking" directional drilling systems developed by the Essen engineers will save valuable time and make offshore operations more effective. Fully electronic drilling robots with sensors and cordless data transmission are already reality, just as the digital analysis of drilling cores. Steve Manz, Vice-President of Noble has said they intend to introduce the DMT’s new machine monitoring procedures to enhance our drilling platforms' availability.
Since the end of last year, the two companies have been working together successfully. In May 2002 Noble took over DMT Welldone Drilling Services, a DMT affiliate. In order to further expand the cooperation, Noble Deutschland has now been established – based at Technologiepark Essen
