The weighted average dollar exchange rate dropped RUR 0.01 to RUR 31.79 by the closing of this morning's trading session. The strengthening of the Russian national currency's rate was observed for a second day in a row. Over the past two days, the dollar rate went down RUR 0.06 to the level registered more than a month and a half ago.
At the same time, experts reported a wide range of dollar quotes today unlike the previous morning trade. The low and high on dollars was reported at RUR 31.78 and 31.85 and the last deal was concluded at 31.83 RUR/USD. In other words, the gap between the low and the high on dollars reached RUR 0.07.
Currency analysts noted that the activity of sellers of dollars reduced significantly by the end of the special session, contrary to the activity of traders purchasing dollars. That is why the dollar rate was higher in the second half of the trading session than at early morning trade. The volume of trade exceeded $128m, which was higher compared to the previous morning trade.
