The YUKOS Oil Company intends to supply at least 10 million tons of oil to China through a pipeline that the company is laying now in five years, Nikolai Bychkov, president of the YUKOS-RM company, said at a news conference today. According to him, the company is also considering a number of alternative projects of oil transportation. Thus, 1.5 million tons of oil will be supplied to China by rail before the end of this year. The possibility of buying shares in oil refining enterprises in a number of countries, including Slovakia, Czechia, Germany, Poland and Croatia, is also being considered.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
