Russian Government Guarantees Execution Of 2002 Budget In Full

The Russian government will provide execution of the 2002 budget in full, vice-premier Alexei Kudrin stated while introducing the budget for next year in the upper parliamentary house. According to expert estimates, the financial results of 2001 were quite favourable in terms of economic situation. Despite the lowering of oil prices in the world markets, the Russian government was able to fulfil the whole plan on budget expenditures and revenues and achieve a certain surplus. "The surplus proved to be so high for the first time in Russian history," Kudrin emphasised. As a result, the government of Russia has braced for risks and challenges of international developments next year.
