Australian tantalum and miner Sons of Gwalia Ltd. net profit fell 10% in the fiscal year ended June 30.
The fall was due to significant items, which cut the profit. These items included a partial writedown in the carrying value of the Leonora underground mine in Western Australia.
The writedown was partly offset by $7.7 million profit when the company sold its interest in the Kemberton silica sand project in early 2002.
