Mobile TeleSystems posts profit figures

Mobile TeleSystems' net profit amounted to $66.8m in the second quarter of2002, which was 91 percent more than in the second quarter of 2001 when itwas $35m, and 52 percent more than in the first quarter of 2002 when it was$43.9m, the mobile operator reported.Mobile TeleSystems' revenues were $316.3m in the second quarter of 2002,which was 54 percent more than in the corresponding period of last year($205.9m), and 28 percent higher than in the first three months of 2002($247.6m). The company's EBITDA amounted to $162m in the second quarter of2002, which was 96 percent higher than in the corresponding period of 2001when it was $82.7m, and 31 percent more than in the period from January toMarch 2002 ($123.5m). The EBITDA margin amounted to 51.2 percent in theperiod from April to June 2002, compared to 40.2 percent in thecorresponding period of last year, and 49.9 percent in the first threemonths of 2002..
