MTS releases figures of capital expenditures in second quarter of 2002

The capital expenditures of Mobile TeleSystems were around $107m in thesecond quarter of this year, of which $64m were invested in the Moscowlicense zone. The company's revenues were $316.3m in the second quarter of2002. A substantial increase in Mobile TeleSystems' revenues and operatingincome in the second quarter of this year was caused by the expandedactivity of the company and the acquisition of two profitable regionaloperators: Kuban GSM and BM-Telecom. Kuban Telecom and BM-Telecom'scontribution to Mobile Tele Systems' revenues was $19.7m and $4.7m in thesecond quarter of this year respectively..
