Aviation security remains among the top priority activities of Aeroflot, the major Russian airline, Aeroflot Security Service Director Valery Baranov stated today. Ten aviation security programs have been implemented by Aeroflot recently. In particular, on December 26, 2002 the company introduced a mandatory comprehensive check of all luggage and carry-ons on all Aeroflot flights. In addition, the Aeroflot aviation security staff now accompanies a number of Aeroflot flights in high-risk areas.
