Iraq Welcomes Resumption of Oil for Food Program

Iraqi ambassador to Russia Abbas Khalaf said at a press conference that the Iraqi leadership highly assessed the decision taken on Friday by the UN Security Council to resume the "Oil for Food" for Iraq.

According to him, "about $40 billion" stay in Iraqi accounts. The Iraqi ambassador stated that within the framework of the "Oil for Food" programme, the Iraqi leadership intended "to give preference to Russian companies engaged in supply of foodstuffs and medicament".
