Moscow Asks Washington to Stop Bombing Baghdad's Ambassadorial District

The Russian foreign ministry has demanded that the USA take measures to save the living quarters of Baghdad where the Russian embassy is located from air strikes.

During air attacks in Baghdad earlier in the day, a few bombs fell on the residential area where the embassy is located, endangering the personnel of the Russian diplomatic mission, reported the Information and Press Department of the Russian foreign ministry.

The foreign ministry promptly summoned US Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, to point out that such actions were inadmissible.

The Russian side also demanded that the US authorities take urgent measures to provide against such incidents taking place in the future.

The ministry said Russian Ambassador to Washington Yury Ushakov had made a similar demarche.
