Vladimir Putin has just arrived in the White Sea port of Arkhangelsk, Northern Russia. Straight from the airport, the Russian president headed for Severodvinsk to attend the inauguration of the new nuclear submarine Gepard. According to the presidential press service, Putin will watch the hoisting of the St. Andrew Ensign on board the submarine cruiser, which is moored by the Sevmash machine-building plant, and talk to the crew in the Gepard's wardroom.
