Suburban development is hindered, Russian President said at the meeting with the leadership of the Central Council of the Russian Agrarian Movement in the Kremlin on Tuesday.
The President stated that new problems emerged along with positive trends in the Russian agroindustrial complex. For three years in a row Russia has gathered heavy grain harvests. New effective methods and technologies are being employed in agriculture production "to enhance competitiveness and investment attraction of the sector." But the problem of overproduction and investment attractiveness maintenance still exists.
Putin said "positive trends have little impact on suburban residents." He wanted to know what the meeting participants thought about this.
The president had been informed about the steps made by the Russian agrarian movement to improve the situation in the agroindustial complex. First of all, the organisation helped promote the government programme aimed at the social development of the village. The movement is also dealing with problems facing the suburban youth. The Russian President said that the movement is popular with villagers.
