RUSSIAN DEFENCE MINISTER CRITICISED NATO PLANS CONCERNING ITS EXPANSION TO THE EAST

Russian Defence Minister Sergey Ivanov, being with the official visit to Germany, criticised the NATO plans, concerning its expansion to the East.

According to the information of the DPA Information Agency, Sergey Ivanov, speaking at the press-conference in town Boppard Rhine, said that the expansion of the NATO is the internal matter of the organisation, but "it may create for Russia problems of a certain kind".

On Sunday Sergey Ivanov completes his two-day visit to Germany. In the course of the visit he discussed with German Minister of Defence Rudolf Scharping issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the possibilities of upcoming cooperation within the NATO framework.
