The US unilateral withdrawal from the treaty, announced by the American president on Thursday, did not come as a surprise to Moscow, according to informed sources in the Russian power structures. Government officials went as far as made it clear that Russia stands to gain in a sense from that decision of the US president. The country will be able to ensure its national security without spending funds on analogous security systems.
