Us Pull-out From Abm Treaty Is No Surprise To Russia

Russia has been full ready for the USA's withdrawal from the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. The US unilateral withdrawal from the treaty, announced by the American president on Thursday, did not come as a surprise to Moscow, according to informed sources in the Russian power structures. Government officials went as far as made it clear that Russia stands to gain in a sense from that decision of the US president. The country will be able to ensure its national security without spending funds on analogous security systems. Russia's anti-missile know-how allows it to come up with an adequate reaction to the US pull-out from the ABM Treaty, according to sources.
