The Belarussian Foreign Ministry states that the unilateral withdrawal by the USA from the ABM Treaty may disrupt the balance of strategy stability and international security. This statement was made on Friday by Belarussian foreign minister Mikhail Khvostov. In his opinion, the 1972 ABM Treaty "is the issue of trust for nuclear states." "To a certain degree, this trust may be undermined," the Belarussian foreign minister said. Mikhail Khvostov expressed the hope that Russia and the USA would hold negotiations on this issue. The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation will also return to this issue, believes the head of the Belarussian Foreign Ministry.
