Russia is satisfied by the level of cooperation reached between Moscow and the People's Republic of China.
This was said by Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov at a meeting in the Government House with Li Lanqing, Deputy Premier of the Chinese State Council, the government information department reported on Wednesday.
The Russian premier congratulated Li Lanqing on an anniversary of signing the Russian-Chinese Goodneighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation Treaty. In the opinion of Mikhail Kasyanov, "conclusion of this treaty in 2001 has become a landmark in Russian-Chinese all-round cooperation". He also asked to pass greetings and the best wishes to his Chinese opposite number, Premier of the State Council Zhu Rongji.
Mikhail Kasyanov and Li Lanqing have also discussed on Wednesday the development of humanitarian cooperation in the sphere of education, culture, sport and tourism.
The government information department recalled that a session of the Russian-Chinese commission for cooperation in these areas will be held in Moscow on Thursday. The co-chairman of this commission is, on the Russian side, Vice-Premier Valentina Matvienko and the Chinese side is represented by Li Lanqing.
