Moscow hails coming negotiations between Presidents of Russia and Yemen

Moscow believes that the coming negotiations between the Presidents of Russia and Yemen will help bring bilateral partnership to a qualitatively new level. As the sources in the Kremlin pointed out, the official visit to Russia by President of the Yemeni Republic Ali Abdallah Salih is the first in the history of Russian-Yemeni relations. Before that, the Yemeni President visited the Soviet Union in 1981 and 1984.

During his stay in Moscow, Ali Abdallah Salih will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, Chairman of the Federation Council (Upper House of Parliament) Sergei Mironov and Chairman of the State Duma (Lower House of Parliament) Gennady Seleznev.

As the Kremlin sources told RIA Novosti, the coming negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Ali Abdallah Salih "will make it possible to confirm the progressive dynamics that has become appreciable of late in the development of the traditionally friendly Russian-Yemeni relations in a broad range of spheres, including the intensification of the political dialogue and enhancing of trade, economic, scientific, cultural, humanitarian and other contacts." "On the whole, the negotiations will help bring the entire complex of mutually advantageous bilateral partnership to a qualitatively new level," the sources in Moscow believe.

During this visit the sides will specifically discuss the ways towards intensifying mutually advantageous Russian-Yemeni cooperation in different spheres, including the oil and gas industry, energy, irrigation, military-technological cooperation and other spheres, pointed out the Kremlin sources.

The heads of the two countries will sign a Declaration on the Principles of the Relations of Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and Yemen.
