Far East governors to arrive in Vladivostok to meet with Putin

Heads of all Far East regions of Russia are scheduled to arrive inVladivostok today, while some governors arrived yesterday. They willparticipate in a meeting dedicated to the problems of social and economicdevelopment of the Far East Federal District and chaired by RussianPresident Vladimir Putin, which will be held on Friday in the capital ofthe Primorye region. As the press service of the Russian leader reported,the meeting is slated for Friday morning, around 10:30-13:30, Vladivostoktime. During the Russian President's visit to Vladivostok, which isexpected to last until August 28, Putin is planning to meet with manyofficials of the region. A key meeting will be with Chairman of the Defense Committee of China KimChong-il, which is scheduled for Friday, August 23, at 17:00. After themeeting the leaders of the two countries will have dinner. The RussianPresident is also planning to hold a Sea Board meeting with theparticipation of the representatives of the Navy, the Transport andPassenger Fleet, the Fishing Fleet, naval higher educational institutionsand the administrations of sea coastal areas. The President is alsoexpected to meet with heads of mass media of the Far East and take part ina number of other events..
