While speaking during his meeting with the crew of a large antisubmarine destroyer, President Vladimir Putin said great maneuvers and voyages were waiting ahead for Russia's Pacific Fleet. The President also noted that not enough attention had been lately paid to learning and the upkeep of the ships, which could also be said for all Russia's armed forces.
According to the President's press service he said, 'Now we are back to the appropriate level of this', meaning, among other things, the naval manoeuvers without recent precedents on the Caspian Sea. 'We had nothing like those manoeuvers', the President concluded, 'over the past 20 years'.
