State Duma speaker: opening of Chechen congress in Denmark is a disgrace

From the point of view of Gennady Seleznyov, the speaker of the State Duma, the Monday opening of a World Congress of the Chechen People in Denmark is "simply a disgrace." Talking to journalists on Monday, the chairman of the lower house of the Russian parliament said he was surprised that Denmark had not bothered to postpone the opening of the Congress, which fell on the day of mourning for the victims of the Chechen terrorist act in the Theater Center, Moscow's Dubrovka Street - and all that at a moment when the whole world was expressing its solidarity with Russia.

Such action "looks very poor in the eyes of the world community," said Seleznyov.
