Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived yesterday in the Kemerovo regionand met with Aman Tuleyev, the region's governor, the press service of theregional administration reported. The President and the governor discussedthe program of their working visit to the region's cities and consideredthe most urgent problems of the coal industry. In particular, Putin wasinterested in the level of salaries of coalminers and in problems of thesecurity of their work environment.Tuleyev reported that the most dangerous coalmines, from the point ofpossible incidents, are those located in the city of Prokopyevsk. Coalminesare deep and old technologies for coal production are used there, thegovernor specified. .
