Over half of Russians disapprove of government's activity

35 percent of Russians approved of the general activity of the Russiangovernment in August of this year, while 54 percent disapproved of it (36percent and 48 percent in June 2002 respectively). The activity of Chairmanof the Russian government Mikhail Kasyanov was approved by 43 percent ofRussians, while 41 percent said they disapproved of his actions. 76 percentof Russians approved Russian President Vladimir Putin's activity in August(against 20 percent of those disapproving of it), according to the data ofthe poll conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center on August21-27 in 83 locations of 33 regions of Russia among 1,600 people (errorrate is 3.8 percent). 28 percent of respondents said they trusted thePresidential Special Envoys to the Federal Districts, while the number ofthose who trusted governors was much higher (48 percent). About the samenumber of respondents said they disapproved of the activity of both - 44percent and 41 percent respectively. .
