Healthy obesity not healthy at all, new study says

People with so-called "healthy obesity" are more likely to suffer from cardiovascular diseases compared to those with normal complexion, Canadian researchers said, having thus debunked the popular myth, according to which it was believed that not too much overweight people are healthiest individuals.

The scientists have found that extra pounds gradually minimize natural, normal body health. This was the conclusion of the study, which was conducted among 60,000 volunteers.

It turned out that even insignificant excessive weight increases the likelihood of cardio- vascular diseases and premature death. Those having extra pounds of weight are at risk, even if they have normal blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
