World premiere of Moliere's George Dandin in Moscow

The world premiere of Moliere's George Dandin will be held in Moscow as part of the Chekhov International Theatre Festival, which began in Moscow on May 17. The BDT Theatre of St. Petersburg named after famous theatre director Georgy Tovstonogov will show the play in the Maly Theatre on June 5.

This production of Moliere's play by famous French director Jacques Lassalle is a joint project of the Chekhov International Theatre Festival and the French Cultural Centre in Moscow. Lassalle said he admired the energy store of the Russian actors in his production and their striving for self-expression.
