President Putin Awards the Participants in the 2002 Olympic Games

Vladimir Putin has signed the decree on decorating sportsmen, coaches, workers of physical culture and sport with state awards.

As has been reported by the Kremlin press service, the awards have been granted for a great contribution to the development of physical culture and sport and for high sport achievements at the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City in 2002.

Those who have been honoured with the awards include such well-known sportswomen and sportsmen as Olga Pyleva, Yulia Chepalova, Alexei Yagudin, Yelena Berezhnaya, Anton Sikharulidze and Ilya Averbukh. The coaches of the Russian figure skating team have been also awarded.
