Prize named after marshal Zhukov to artist Kuznetsov by Putin's decree

By a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin a state prize of the Russian Federation named after Marshal Georgy Zhukov for 2004 in the field of literature and arts has been awarded to artist Yevgeny Kuznetsov for a series of pictures "Fields of Military Glory", RIA Novosti was told at the presidential press-service.

Follows the text of the decree "On Awarding the State Prize of the Russian Federation named after Marshal of the Soviet Union G.K.Zhukov for 2004":

"Having considered a suggestion by the Commission for the State Prize of the Russian Federation named after Marshal of the Soviet Union G.K.Zhukov, I resolve:

"To award the State Prize of the Russian Federation named after Marshal of the Soviet Union G.K.Zhukov of 2004 and confer the title of the laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation named after Marshal of the Soviet Union G.K.Zhukov:

"In the field of literature and arts to

"Kuznetsov Yevgeny Andreyevich, an artist, for a series of pictures 'Fields of Military Glory', revealing the greatness of the people's feat, and heroism and courage of fighting men - defenders of the Fatherland".

Georgy Zhukov (1896-1974) was an outstanding Soviet military leader, a marshal, four times the Hero of the Soviet Union, who made a tremendous contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War against Nazism (1941-45). On May 8, 1945 he accepted the surrender of Nazi Germany. Victory Day in Russia is marked on May 9.

More than 5.8 million people voted for Nicholas Maduro at the presidential election in Venezuela. This is more than a quarter of registered voters. Why did those people vote for the man, who, as Western media write, took Venezuela to the brink of collapse?

Venezuela may expect another Panama scenario from 1989
