Russia builds most powerful nuclear reactor in the world

11 September of 2015 has become a significant day for the global nuclear science.

Construction of the most powerful multipurpose scientific nuclear reactor has been started in the Russian city of Dimitrovgrad. The reactor will be based on the swift neurons.

There are no existing analogues of the device in the world. The reactor will be constructed within the Russian State Research Institute of atomic reactors.

The reactor is to be put into operation in 2020. Apart from safe energy and fuel systems, heat carriers and structural materials will be studied. The all-purpose reactor will also enable medical researches.

Given the reactor development, an International Research Centre is to be set.
