Yoshigaru Yamada in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg gets its first chance to hear the music of the modern Japanese composer Yoshigaru Yamada, reported a source in the committee that organizes the concert.

Yamada, whose main occupation is medicine, is a rather successful musician.

Conducted by Toshio Yanagisawa, the St. Petersburg Kamerata Orchestra will perform Yamada's compositions arranged by the Russian maestro Vladimir Boyashov.

The two composers will see each other for the first time, although they have been friendly for almost three years since the moment Boyashov was asked to arrange Yamada's melodies, reported RIA Novosti's source.

The performance, entitled Friendship of Two Composers, is part of the Year of Japan in Russia.
