Coca Cola Cans with views of Hermitage Museum go on sale in Saint Petersburg

Coca Cola cans with the most famous views of the Hermitage Museum have appeared in Saint Petersburg shops and kiosks. This was announced today by Director of the Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky. The design of the cans is part of a joint project between Coca Cola and the Hermitage Museum called Maintaining cultural heritage together.

'We decided to do this in celebration of the city's 300th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of our partnership with Coca Cola,' said Mr Piotrovsky. He said the design of the cans was discussed among Hermitage designers and the views include the Triumphal Arch, the Atlantis Columns, Palace Square and the Winter Canal. The drawings were done by contemporary local artists.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of the cans will go towards restoration of the main entrance to the Hermitage Museum while some of the money will go towards publishing a tourist guide to Saint Petersburg. Regional Director of Coca Cola HBC Eurasia Dimitros Makavos handed a cheque for USD 150 thousand to Mr Piotrovsky yesterday.

According to PR Director of Coca Cola HBC Eurasia and Coca Cola Export Corporation Anna Kozlovskaya, 5 million of the special cans will be produced and the cans will only be on sale in Russia, from Saint Petersburg to Vladivostok. 'They will be on sale till about the middle of July and the uniqueness of the cans will not affect the price,' Miss Kozlovskaya insisted.
