"Diamonds of the World Ballet - to Nuriyev" - such is the name of the gala-concerts which will take place in the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow from October 15 to 16. They are dedicated to the memory of the great dancer of the 20th century - Rudolf Nuriyev.
This year Nuriyev would have been 65 years of age. This date was widely marked all over the world, and the concerts in Moscow are closing the jubilee year.
As the organizer of the festival, Oleg Shevchuk, said at the news conference on the occasion, dancers from the Paris Opera, the Danish Royal Ballet, the Vienna State Opera, the American Ballet Theater, the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater will take part in these gala-concerts. The dancers will perform the parts from the repertoire of the great Nuriyev and will show fragments of the ballets in his choreography. Exclusive film sequences of Nuriyev's dancing will also be shown.
