The Center for Environmental Health discovered that some of “Hannah Montana” products for children are contaminated with high levels of lead.
The independent laboratory bought 28 Hannah Montana goods directly from retailers and online, and revealed that nine of them had high levels of lead.
Disney officials deny any infringement of safety standards and claim that their products undergo strict control and production supervision.
But the numbers show the other side of the medal: the federal safety standard for lead in paint is 600 parts per million, while some of the products contained 1,800 parts per million to 8,300 parts per million.
The Center for Environmental Health recommends parents to stay from buying vinyl products for safety concerns.
