Ichikawa days over in Irkutsk region

On Friday the Days of Japan's Ichikawa Prefecture are over in the Irkutsk region in Siberia.

The festival of Japanese culture has brought 150 guests from the Country of the Rising Sun: delegations from eight cities, high officials, parliamentarians, performers of folk songs and dance.

On Saturday they will go home and the just-opened exhibition Symbols of Japan will continue in Irkutsk for a month more. The Japanese prefecture's museum has brought here national costumes, household articles, weapons and decorations from different centuries.

On September 12 to 13 a third Russian-Japanese meeting will be held in Irkutsk, governor Boris Govorin said. It will discuss an outlook for cooperation between Russian regions and Japan. Officials and businessmen will participate in the meeting.
