Kyrghyz Culture Days open in Moscow

Unique archaeological finds discovered in Kyrghyzstan were for the first time displayed at Moscow's Armoury Chamber on Monday. The exhibition, "The Ancientries of Kyrghyzstan," has opened the Kyrghyz Culture Days, a series of culture events that will be taking place in Moscow throughout September 25.

Kyrghyzstan is marking the 2,200th establishment anniversary this year. The republic will offer the most significant of its cultural achievements to the Moscow public, Osmonakun Ibraimov, the state secretary of the republic, has said at a news conference in Moscow. Kyrghyzstan treats Russia and the Russian language and culture with great love. Kyrghyz Culture Days in Moscow are, therefore, an event of great importance for the republic, said Mr. Ibraimov.

Moscow will host an exposition of pictures from the collection of the Kyrghyz national museum of fine arts, a book exhibition that will feature some 550 items ranging from ancient manuscripts to modern-day editions. The Kyrghyz side is going to present nearly 150 rare editions to the Russian State Library.

Films on the Kyrghyz Cinema Days programme will be shown at Moscow's Cinema House.

Apart from that, an orchestra of folk instruments, a symphony orchestra and a dancing ensemble from Kyrghyzstan will give concerts in Moscow.

President Askar Akayev and the world known Kyrghyz writer Chinghiz Aitmatov have come to Moscow for the Kyrghyz Culture Days events.
