Fahrenheit 9/11 released all over the USA

Fahrenheit 9/11 is to open in 868 screens across USA today. Several members of the Congressional Black Caucus praised the film for what they said is its uncompromising examination of corruption and ineptitude in the Bush White House.

The media event with African American lawmakers was particularly appropriate, film-maker Michael Moore said, because the film's opening scene shows members of the 39-member congressional Black Caucus on the floor of the House of Representatives expressing outrage over the bitterly-fought 2000 Florida presidential vote, which culminated in the election of Bush as president.

Michael Moore has not endorsed Democrat John Kerry, but he makes no secret of partisan motivations.

"I would like to see Mr. Bush removed from the White House," he said Sunday on ABC's "This Week With George Stephanopoulos."

In Moore's narration about Bush's three-year record, the president is depicted as clueless and deceitful.

The Associated Press

A spokesman for President Bush characterizes as "outrageously false" the "Fahrenheit 9/11" premise of Bush family links to the Osama bin Laden clan. The president is so in thrall to Bush family business ties with the clan of Osama bin Laden and other wealthy Saudis that he misdirects American reprisals for the 2001 terror attacks from Saudi financiers of terrorism to Iraq's Saddam Hussein, according to Moore.
