Mammoth teeth to be displayed in museum of local lore, history and economy in Evenkia

Three teeth of mammoths were handed over to a representative of the Evenki Autonomous Area (North of East Siberia) in Moscow. This was disclosed on Thursday in the press service of the Area's administration.

The teeth were presented by Inter-Mammoth firm whose expedition discovered them in 2002 in the Ilimpic district of the Autonomous Area.

The teeth the size of which is 27x20 cm, 20x19 cm and 15x14 cm preserved well. Very soon they will be handed over to the Museum of Local Lore, History and Economy which has been functioning for 75 years in the Township of Tura, the administrative centre of Evenkia. On display in the museum will be also other fragments of the skeletons of mammoths and prehistoric bulls.
