The Pushkin International Charity Foundation organises the Charity Pushkin Ball in the Pushkin State Museum on the eve of Alexander Pushkin's birthday, June 5. This was announced at the Tuesday press conference on the results on the last year's activities of the foundation.
Russian public figures, politicians, poet's descendants and Russian noblemen living abroad will take part in the ball. Funds gained at the ball will be used to implement several foundation's programmes on the assistance to Russian orphans.
A new book "The Past Is Alive Inside Me" published by the Pushkin Museum and the Pushkin Charity Foundation will be presented at the ball, director of the Pushkin Museum Yevgeny Bogatyrev said. The book includes essays on more than 600 museum's memorable objects from different sources. According to Bogatyrev, the special edition of the book will be a real event "for those who love Pushkin and collect editions about the great poet."
