Annual Contest for Best Edition for Children and Youth Starts in Russia

The annual contest for best editions for children and youth, held by the Press Ministry, starts in Russia today.

The contest works will be accepted till April 1.

The participants will be selected in five categories: prose, poetry, illustrated fiction book, educational literature (historical, biographical, geographical, etc.), literature studies and critics.

The contest is held to encourage the most interesting and talented Russian writers and to attract the readers' attention to their works.

Every winner will be awarded 50,000 roubles (some 1,600 dollars). A sufficient number of copies of their books to supply all Russian public libraries will be published.
