On Wednesday, famous Russian paediatrician Leonid Roshal will go to Geneva to discuss his initiative concerning establishment of the "green corridor" for evacuation of children from Iraqi cities Baghdad and Basra. Professor Roshal said this at a press-conference in Moscow.
According to him, a special co-ordinating committee must be set up to carry out the project. It will include representatives from the ICRC, the International Health Care Organisation, UNICEF, the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the Russian Red Cross Committee.
Leonid Roshal said that he was ready to start evacuation of Iraqi children in 7-10 days, if Iraq and the American-British coalition sanction the organisation of the "green corridor".
