Alina Kabaeva leaves Russian Parliament

 

Alina Kabaeva is leaving the State Duma.  The Rules Committee of the State Duma recommended the Lower House of the Russian parliament should uphold the request from United Russia party deputy Alina Kabaeva to terminate her authorities of a deputy due to a transfer for another appointment.

Alina Kabaeva is a native of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She is the winner of the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in 2000 in Sydney, two-time all-around world champion, five-time all-around champion of Europe and six-time European all-around champion of Russia.

After retiring from sports, she became a member of the Supreme Council of United Russia.

In 2006, Alina Kabaeva was voted the sexiest woman in Russia. The athlete appeared naked in a photo session for Maxim Magazine and graced the cover of Vogue Magazine in 2010.

Reportedly, the world-famous rhythmical gymnast is leaving politics to work in sports.
